When Grief Isn’t About Death

Grief can come from many life changes — retirement, caregiving, illness, divorce, estrangement, or lost opportunities. These hidden losses often go unrecognized or unaddressed, yet they can impact one's life in serious ways.

Life Transitions & Hidden Losses is a closed, semi-structured, 4-week online group designed to help people explore the impact of and navigate significant life changes and the unacknowledged grief that often comes with them. The group also offers an opportunity for connection, helping members feel less alone in their journey.

Stories We Carry: Exploring Identity, Memory, and Meaning Through Creative Play

As part of Center Yoga Arts and Breathing Space Retreat's "Reset & Restore: A Women's Wellness Retreat", Mourning Ventures will facilitate a creative workshop on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in the morning. (There might be one spot left for the retreat, so we encourage you to check it out!)

This workshop offers participants a chance to reflect on who they have been, who they are now, and who they are becoming—through artistic exploration and

gentle self-inquiry. Designed to be nurturing and creative, the session invites women to acknowledge past versions of themselves, honor their personal growth, and carry meaningful aspects forward into the next chapter.

The workshop is inspired by the work of Mourning Ventures of Maine and touches on themes of identity, life transitions, grief, and meaning-making without being heavy or clinical.

Holistic Death Care Panel—Sept. 20, 2025

I was so honored to represent Mourning Ventures of Maine on the holistic death care panel discussion at the Common Ground Fair! Such an incredible group of providers and very engaging audience.

A special shout out to Chuck Lakin of Last Things who allowed the panel to use his event time to hold the conversation and to Caz Bemski for organizing the whole thing!

The event was so successful, we are hoping to hold additional panel events throughout the state. Stay tuned...
