Lisa Joy White, LMSW, MThanatology, CT
Grief Care Specialist & Advance Life Planning Facilitator

Lisa White is a Licensed Master Social Worker with graduate training in both clinical and macro social work. She holds a master’s degree and national certification in thanatology—the study of death, dying, and bereavement—as well as a graduate certificate in gerontology. Her areas of expertise include grief support, complicated grief assessment, and advance life planning—helping individuals prepare for and navigate some of life’s most difficult transitions.
With more than a decade of experience, Lisa has supported individuals and families facing serious illness, bereavement, and end-of-life decisions. She has worked extensively in grief and loss care, created advance care planning programs for nonprofit organizations, and guided hundreds of people through thoughtful, values-based end-of-life planning conversations.
Lisa is also a passionate educator and advocate. She has trained hospice volunteers, presented at statewide conferences, and championed inclusive, person-centered approaches to end-of-life care and grief support. Known for her warm, grounded presence, she creates space for people to explore both death-related and non-death losses with dignity, honesty, and compassion.
Note: While Lisa’s services are not psychotherapy, they are deeply therapeutic—offering structured, professional guidance distinct from peer-based or informal support.
